Excitement Technologies Purchases Laser Production House
DALLAS, TEXAS (April 12, 2001) - The Board of Directors of Excitement Technologies Group has approved the acquisition of FirstLight Laser Productions. FirstLight is the premier provider of full-length laser shows to planetariums throughout the world. The stock and cash transaction is expected to close before March 1.
FirstLight has moved into new facilities and has increased its staff and services to maximize the value of the award-winning shows it produces. The company strictly adheres to International Laser Display Association standards in developing all shows. As a result of the ETG acquisition, Firstlight now provides additional services to its clients such as the conversion of non-ILDA standard laser projector systems into full ILDA compliance and general projector maintenance and upgrades.
The greatest value of converting old projectors is the flexibility to show all current laser releases such as FirstLight's just produced Britney Spears extravaganza.
Mike Dunn, who founded FirstLight, states, "The market for planetarium shows is growing rapidly, and our expanded capabilities now make it possible to design a wealth of shows to fit the diverse interests of attendees." Dunn is a veteran in the laser business, and many of his designs such as Pink Floyd vignettes are popular with audiences of all ages.
